Channel Partners MSP Summit 2026: Agentic AI & The Future of Business IT

I'm sitting in the Las Vegas airport waiting for my flight back to New York, replaying everything from the past few days at the Channel Partners MSP Summit 2026. There's a different feeling leaving this one. Not just new ideas. Not just new vendors. A very real sense that things are speeding up... fast.
Over the course of the summit, something became very clear. It wasn't just that AI was everywhere. It was that the conversation has changed. Businesses are no longer asking "How can we use AI?" They're asking "How fast can we implement it?" And more importantly: "How much are we already behind?"
What kept coming up again and again was agentic AI. Not chatbots. Not simple automation. Systems that can actually take action: acting on behalf of users, running workflows, making decisions, and integrating into real business operations. This goes far beyond anything most businesses have seen before, and the conversations happening at the summit made it clear that this isn't a future concept. It's already being deployed in real-world environments across modern managed IT environments.
One of the most talked about developments across the summit was coming from Anthropic and their work with Claude AI. Specifically, Claude Mythos. It kept coming up in conversations, in demos, in side discussions. Not as a "future idea," but as something that's already starting to shape how AI agents will function inside real businesses. What makes it different is the shift from AI that simply responds to AI that can actually execute. More autonomous. More context-aware. Closer to execution than just response. And This Is Where Things Really Clicked
Most businesses today are still operating the same way they were 3 to 5 years ago. Support when something breaks. Basic security. Manual processes everywhere.
Meanwhile, everything around them is evolving.
The biggest risk right now isn't making the wrong decision. It's not moving at all. Because the gap between businesses that adapt early and those that don't is growing quietly... but quickly.
If you're looking for more context on how physical security and IT are converging in similar ways, check out our ISC West 2026 recap for a deeper look at that shift.
This is exactly why the role of an IT partner is changing. It's not just about keeping systems running. It's about knowing what's coming next, filtering out noise vs real innovation, and implementing new technology in a secure, practical way.
At IT Management Solutions, that's exactly what we focus on... delivering proactive managed IT services that go beyond basic support. Building secure, scalable environments. Identifying where automation creates real impact. Staying aligned with emerging technologies like agentic AI and bringing those capabilities to our clients in a way that actually works.
Sitting here waiting to board, the biggest takeaway isn't any one product or vendor. It's the direction everything is heading.
The businesses that are going to win over the next few years won't just be the most secure. They'll be the ones that are the most adaptable.
If you're not thinking about how AI and automation will impact your business over the next 12 to 24 months, now is the time to start.
